What Will Happen

Create-dates are a super fun way for you and another person to work together to make a beautiful art piece in one class session. This is your event so we will cater the experience to your desires!

  • 1 registration covers 2 people

    • Up to 6 pairs may register for one class

      • Please note: these additional pairs would be invited by you. We do not schedule groups unknown to each other for Create Dates

  • Before your arrival you will select your technique: Stained Glass or Fused/Slumped Glass. However, the actual project will be selected during the class.

  • Your Create Date comes with an array of bar snacks and seltzer

    • Feel free to bring your own drinks too!

    • Want a nicer snack spread? Upgrade to a Veggie Platter, Charcuterie Board, or Fromage Board

  • During the class we will work closely together to learn glass cutting, shaping, and all the technical needs of stained glass or fused glass to complete your projects.

How Long

FUSED GLASS PROJECT

  • 3 hrs

  • Learn to cut sheet glass and about the various beautiful formats of glass we will use to assemble your piece

    • Explore enamel, frit, stringers, and rods of glass.

  • Make sun catchers, dishes, plant hangers, vases, ornaments, jewelry or more!

  • Work as a team on 1 project or work separately on 2 projects. Your choice!

  • During Class you will design, cut, and assemble your fused glass piece.

  • After class I will fire your piece brining the glass up in temperature to around 1500 F. This will melt your glass into a single layer. Then your piece will be cleaned it so that is sparkles. Finally your glass will be loaded back into the kiln for a second firing to slump the glass into its 3D form this time only going to around 1250 F.

  • Your piece will be available for pick up in the studio post firing or can be shipped to you.

STAINED GLASS PROJECT

  • 4 hrs

  • Explore the copper foil stained glass method

  • Learn to cut and sheet glass, foil your pieces, solder, and patina your art work

    • make sun catchers, ornaments, mirrors, or even a votive candle holder

  • We kindly ask that you and your partner work as a team on one project. Stained glass is so much fun but it is technical and in order to ensure you can complete a stained glass piece in just 4 hours we will need to collaborate.

  • Walk away with your finished piece same night

Cost

Reservation Fee:

  • FUSED GLASS OR STAINED GLASS

    • $350 per Pair of Students

      • Includes bar snack array, seltzer, instruction, and basic materials.

      • Please note: Sheet glass is not included in this cost and will be charged at the end of the class. This is to allow you to choose whatever colors, textures, and amounts of glass you’d like to use with out being limited.

        • You will only be asked to pay for the amount you use.

          • Most glass in our studio ranges between 10 cents and 30 cents per square inch
